Hey, good job on these photos. I've been down there before and I've noticed that you really have about a 10 minute window just after the sun comes up and before the sun goes down when the light pulls out details and colours out of the rock that you never saw before!

My I-140 was filed in Jan 06 and was cleared by March 06. Not sure if it depends as to where it's being sent to.
I think mine went to Nebraska.

You can go visit India after your AP has been applied for, and you can ask your lawyer ( if you are using one ) to send the docs to you in India , so that you can come back with the new approved AP, off course you can't enter USA on an expired AP.
My lawyer has confirmed that one is only required to be present in the USA when applying and it's recommended that one is in US when it's approved, but due to the varying time USCIS is taking to process AP applications that is not a requirement and they can forward the documents to someone not in US.

I thought once an I-140 is approved, one carries that priority date for life.... (even if the 140 is revoked). At any point if he files another 140, the priority date can be ported.

I missed the last rally and I regret it. There was a moment in time when we were all really energized. The flower campaign was brilliant. But now we seem to have lost that fire - me included! I dont even remember my dates anymore. I know we have a serious problem of getting people together for anything. But starting small in our own cities and connecting to a national IV would probably work. I am here in Sterling Heights, MI (Detroit Metro Area) and I am willing to host people in my area It will be great if others in other cities can do that too. I am dre. ming, but think about it if this works. We can march to washigton again such large numbers that everyone will notice. I really think its time to get together and do something. Bouncing ideas on IV boards is great but lets meet and get to know each other and see if can talk about this problem face to face across the country. Thats what grassroot effort it!. If nothing, we will find new friends in each other. I hope to find that fire in us again and I thank you for reading my post!

I think you can take classes (online or even regular in-class) as long as you maintian your primary H1B status - i.e. continue to work with the employer on the specified job/number of hours etc.

Here in Europe the biggest problem is ATMs that has been modified. The most simple modification is a simple loop inserted into the slot that tries to fool its victims into believing the machine ate their card. In addition a helpful person will appear and tell the victim that there's a secret code to be keyed in (999 + personal pin code) to make the machine spit out the card again...
Then they upped the stakes a bit. Today's con-person installs a small card reader at the ATM's slot. In addition there's a small camera (here's the relevant bit) that take pictures as people enter their code. This has been used and such equipment has even been recovered in atleast one case.
As for someone looking over your shoulder in the store, and perhaps even snapping a picture of it... Well, lets just say you don't want to leave your card out of sight. Don't assume your card is worthless plastic in someone else's hands.
We card users are basically using yesterday's (actually: last decade's/century's) technology to access our money while the countless villains out there are armed with today's technology. We're sitting ducks.
The card companies are reluctant to tell us this, but eventually as they roll out new technology (smart cards with bio-signatures) it will become blatantly apparent to everyone. Here in Norway they're scheduled to do this over the next year I think.

Plus, H1B is debated and decided upon (pro-H1B's are quite happy as-is), EB has not been debated at all.
And when they vote, they may delete the H1B from the cap-removal and retain the GC, which will be just fine for us. We should support this amendment. It might go through after some changes.

is a TB skin test neccessary even if you tell the doc you've had a history of positive TB tests? do i have to prove i've had a history of postive TB test for the doctor to remark that on i-693..or can he just remark that without evidence and go on my word

Your chest xray was negative so you are fine.
To file for the 485 the skin test is a requirement. The doc has to prick you on your arm and in 48 hours you have the results.
You need him to sign off on the results.

In all of the years that I have been doing evaluations I have seen only two cases where a GC had a NOIR (Notice of intent to revoke) for education reasons. Both had 3 year degrees. One case was several years ago and approved and the other was recent and just submitted.
Do you know the reason for your notice?
In my case, it was B.Sc + M.C.A (3 + 3) years education and applied it on EB2 Category. I know of a lot of cases with M.C.A approved on EB2 category. So, I am not sure if this would be reason for it.

From my notice the processing date is meaningless at TSC because the dates are mostly the processing windows. For example, I140 was Jan 13 in July notice, which was 6 months behind. If you take a look on AP and EAD, they were just 3 months behind.
It turns out to me that processing date is the date that you are entitled to make a phone call to request your status. You may be lucky to have your EAD in 1 or 2 months. But if you do not have it in three months, you can make a call to request a reason they can not deny your request. But if your date is later than the processing date, they may turn down your request or ask you to wait.
That's it!
It makes predicting when our applicatios will be done a little harder :)
