lots of labors were sold..god knows how many are in queue by substitution
I think lot of labor subs guys have already got their GC ..there maybe sizeable number though remaining. in the example that I gave ..these guys didnt even get a decent job ..so they didnt even come to the GC scene.
also lot of people were having multiple H-1's ..so I am trying to be optimist in suggesting that the real demand may not be that much ..also, because of repeated complaints ..I would think that USCIS will try to push as many EB3- I cases as possible ..so they can show that dates are not severly retrogressed. these are all optimistic thinking points ..as one of my telugu friends told me ..even paan wallah's were coming from hyderabad ...and I guess for their own good 90% of them went back to get oppurtunities in India. many of them were already working in govt positions ..and I guess H1 hiring was almost at a standstill during the last downturn.

yes that is true. I did not had any problem with mortgage. Atleast as of today, it is illegal to deny mortgage based on immigration status. If you have any idea of buying a house, it is better to do it before any law changes if at all there is one in the pipeline as you(madhuri) suspect.
It is all how you see your life. Just concentrate your energies on positive stuff you have. thanks a lot kshitijnt.... my gc has been filed about 5 months back. At that point I wasn't planning to shift to PF otherwise i wudn't have made them file it. ya, as u said i shud have started with PF directy. Just because my company filed for h1b, i didn't wanted to ditch theem. Now I realised that its foolish in this fied to be considerate for someone especially desi employers.
Anyways will try ur way and see how it goes.

I don't think its much different from what is posted. Only one time contributions are being considered for this event.
I have a shared doc with StarSun and all known ones have been accounted for the above total.
Only one month left to achieve our funding goals.
It does look like there are only a few hundred (~200) willing to actively participate for the good of others. About 0.04 % of all EB2, EB3 filers.
One possible strategy.......
Dividing 50,000 into that, it will be great if you hardworking people, fighting for legal immigrants, can touch about $200-400 each,
while the rest watch from the sidelines and cheer for us :), and also debate & analyze spiritedly.....
I'm at $300 now for this event

Still haven't got mine yet. Attorney suggested another 2 more weeks. Doesn't sound like many (if ANY) have got their receipts yet. The only thing I've seen is that people who paid personally have seen their receipt numbers on cashed check images. This doesn't apply to those who didn't pay personally though.

Simple thing, I don't comment all the bull that goes on , on the open forum, discussing Vonage to anything, who cares. Put up the opinions no problem. But there has to be a limit on how and what are you putting up.
Despite IV doing so much for the community, the post from gvenkat, jyoti and including yours and lot others (guys you know whom I am talking about) actually demotivate the group and this way you contribute to IV but all NEGATI VE When I see this type shit I just cannot stop myself and I think would be a shame on myself if I do so.
Also , one time donation are not helping. IV needs more donations, more volunteers. Just for everyone's info, I received all my receipt notices(485,EAD,AP) today including for my wife and son. Applications were received at NSC on July 3rd and finally transferred to TSC because my I-140 was approved from there in Nov 2006. I saw a LUD on approved I-140 on 8/5/07. My checks were not cashed until 8/31 when my attorney last checked. My guess is that these were cashed around 1st week of sept.
One important thing I want to mention that my attorney hadn't filled in my A# from I-140 into I-485. He entered it as "None" and I was worried of any negative effect, but USCIS correctly figured it out and mentioned this no. on all my receipt notices.
However, they mixed up the nos. for my son and wife's receipts. My wife's 485 receipt has my son's A#. My attorney went ahead and contacted USCIS right away.
I hope everyone get receipts soon.

I don't know how you have calclated that. As far as I remember seeing various threads on this forum, there are atleast 5-6K EB3 in 2002 and similar number in 2003 for India. Considering 2.5 number used per family I an guessing we need atleast 20-25K Green card numbers for EB3 to move beyond 2003. With just 3300 EB3 available per year, my guess is it'll take 4-5 years for cuttoff dates to go past 2003. I may be pesimistic, but this country's immigration system has taking all optimism out of our American dream...

Perhaps 10% may still rot in NC further.

This guy is a deshi employer. He is on H1 so he is a silent partner & that why scratching his head.
There are attorneys who will charge only after recovering money. The stupid employer can be sued for lost wages along with civil penalties from which the attorney's fee will be paid.
I just read first page of this thread and would advice that don't follow most of reply because they are lawyers or they have not gone through the experience you are going through. $4000 may not be big amount compared to hassle of law suite , piece of mind or the amount of increase you may have received by switching employer. I know a close person who had gone through exactly same situation in NJ and had to pay 12,000 to settle the case. I have seen bunch of people in same situation and my friend always adviced them to stay away from law suite. If your current employer is not big then there are greater chances that it will turn away from you in case of law suite.
If you are not working with same client that you were working when you were in company A then non-compete may not hold against you.
Also can you get in writing from you current employer that they will support you in case of law suite?

I opened SR in Jan...in Feb they sent letter that security checks are pending..so I took INFOPASS after talking with attorney...went to INFOPASS and was rudely told that it could take a long time because Namecheck is pending..no idea how long it will take...i was like..if security check is pending do my FP and check everything...but no...they want to do name check..okay..then attorney said to wait 1 more month...he called last week to USCIS and they said...oh we responded on FEB..to the original SR..the response was..its still pending..hell..i know that already..what the hell are u doing about it ?? i thought they were supposed to work on an SR and get it out of the way in 60 days..now lawyer is asking to wait 1 more month because he is saying 60 days from Feb...GOSH..and i am waiting for 140 also...filed in July went to NSC-TSC blackhole..God knows what will happen...

I am in same situation who has sept 10th ND from TSC , no FP for me or my wife. I did open a SR and i got a response letter saying that either your FP has expired or clearance has not been received.. will send one by mail soon.
It has already been 45 days since the letter was dated. NO FP nothing.
Has going to IO helped anybody is getting a FP notice? That seems my last resort.
If its TSC then I do not think it will help at all. Whenever I talk to IO their only response if they are waiting for availability at local ASC.
So TSC people are out of luck.
